"Children's minds are innocent and pure. Each child is a white marble for the teacher and the parents to mould into an image of God, a bud to be helped to blossom in all its Divine glory so that it becomes a worthy offering to God".

Sangeetha showed a flair for music at a very young age and took her first Bharatanatyam steps at the age of four. Her first teacher, Subathra (nee Nagarathnam) presented her in a dance drama, Krishna Leela, as a young Krishna, when she was barely four and a half - whetting her appetite, for the years of training, which followed.
Continuing her dance training under Pushkala Gopal and Unnikrishnan, Sangeetha also began Karnatic vocal and violin classes under L.Kothandapani. She is steadily gaining proficiency in piano playing.
Sangeetha has had opportunities to do short solo appearances at various community dance events. She has performed at Mudralaya's showcases at the Logan Hall and Polka Theatre in 2002 and 2003. She was also featured in Moham, directed and performed by Chitra Sundaram at the South Bank and Waterman Arts Centre.
Sangeetha won the first prize for dance and was adjudged to be the best overall junior competitor at the Croydon Music Festival in both 2002 and 2003. She was placed first for Bharatanatyam at the Sangeet Mela Music Festival. The Federation of British Festivals presented her in their Royal Concert recently, and she also performed for the ISTD Congress in London in 2003.
Her other interests include art, swimming and chess. Sangeetha is 10 years old, currently in year 6 at Wimbledon High Junior School in London.
